Wootten signs as Playle leaves the Bowl
6:17am Wednesday 22nd February 2012
FC Clacton have completed the signing of goalkeeper Ed Wootten, from Redbridge.
The former Halstead Town shot-stopper made his debut in last night's 3-1 Ridgeons League premier division victory against CRC.
He saved a penalty in the last few seconds - only for one of the visiting players to tuck home the rebound.
Meanwhile, Seasiders boss Andy Taylor confirmed that keeper Joe Playle - having played in all bar two of the club's games this season - has left the Rush Green Bowl.
For reaction to Clacton's win, including an interview with Wootten, see this week's Gazette - out on Thursday.
