Arctic blast means weekend of inactivity for hockey and rugby teams
12:10pm Monday 6th February 2012
Both Clacton Hockey Club and Clacton Rugby Club were left without fixtures last weekend because of the Arctic blast.
Carl Parkes’ high-flying NE14Hockey East Men’s League division three south-east side had been due to visit Upminster.
However, the match was postponed because of a frozen playing surface.
It means the Seasiders now switch their attention to Saturday’s big match at top-of-the-table Chelmsford seconds.
Clacton are third, just two points behind second-placed Southend.
Clacton Rugby Club should have travelled to Buckhurst Hill for an Essex League division one fixture against Bancroft.
However, the match was postponed at 11am on Saturday.
