RUBBISH collections across Tendring have been affected by the icy conditions.

Crews are out as usual today to collect refuse and recycling across the district.

But due to the snowy weather, Tendring Council said there is likely to be disruption to collections by its contractor Veolia Environmental Services.

It said it is expected that some roads will be unsafe to use by their vehicles.

Council staff have also been sent out with wheel-barrows and shovels to clear snow in town centres.

All public loos in the district were open and all council leisure facilities were operating as normal, apart from outside artificial pitches.
