Message in a bottle

Message in a bottle

A SUFFOLK woman has found a message in a bottle thrown into the sea by two children at Clacton.

Jane Famous found the plastic bottle on the beach at Bawdsey, north of Felixstowe, near to where she lives.

The message inside contains no contact details, but the bottle was dispatched to the waves on July 10 by Caroline and her 12-year-old brother Thomas.

Inside the bottle was a wish list from both children listing their aspirations and hopes.

Mrs Famous, 53, said that she only picked up the bottle because she had heard a radio programme about messages earlier that day.

“I took it home thinking I would find a message saying ‘You’ve been had’.

“But when I opened it, it was lovely, especially the young girl’s one was beautiful,” said the aspiring artist.

In her message, Caroline said that she hoped to get good grades and go to university, compete for England in the Olympics, and that all of her friends and family would have a good and healthy life.

Thomas asked for peace, wealth and love.

“I will look all the time now,” said Mrs Famous, “and I am thinking of sending a message myself.”
